Excerpt from "The Cafe" - She looked at me, and after a few passing seconds of this stare off, we both made a beeline for the seat. She barely missed bumping into a pregnant woman, while I stepped on the cleaning lady’s sneakers in my quest to secure my spot. I smacked my iPhone down on the table and plopped down on the chair just a split second before she did.
